Welcome to On The Desktop
Greetings, and welcome to the ActiveAccess blog, On The Desktop.
It appears that everyone these days is looking for a direct and efficient way to communicate. Businesses are trying to reach their target audience, and people are looking for ways to stay informed and use technology to reach out and make new connections.
At the same time, we are flooded by the volume of information coming our way. We’ve gone from marveling email, to implementing multiple SPAM filters to block unwanted messages.
Recently, people began to fill their computer desktop with single-use widgets – one to channel a blog, another to provide scores, another for weather and so on. However, technology that appeared to be the answer to our information needs six-months ago, has only added to the clutter.
As consumers, sports fanatics, parents, and people in business, we all want to be informed and we all want to stay connected. In reaching those goals, we need a solution that provides rich content and multiple features without overloading our senses.
I believe the answer rests in ActiveAccess.
ActiveAccess is a desktop content delivery platform that provides a rich set of content and tools that enable users, content providers, and advertisers a unique way to communicate. Using Web 2.0 technology, the ActiveAccess branded desktop communicator offers video and audio streaming, RSS feeds, room for interactive flash applications, and a portal to the Internet. The action-oriented nature of the ActiveAccess solution provides a compelling environment, so users stay engaged. And with our ability to design custom solutions for online brands, retailers, the media, associations, higher education, sports teams, the government, as well as more niche groups, like bloggers, there are many exciting opportunities ahead.
One opportunity for us is to be engaged in the never-ending conversation about technology, communication and managing information. We began this blog as a medium for us to provide our perspectives, insights, product news, and updates on the ActiveAccess product and Web 2.0 issues as a whole. Just as an important, we want this blog to serve as a way to for us interact with users, clients, and others interested in this space so we can receive your feedback, get good ideas, and move the desktop application conversation forward in a way that benefits all interested parties – users, clients, and ActiveAccess
We look forward to this blog as being an interactive forum for ideas, both big and small, for optimizing the user and client experience with ActiveAccess.
I look forward to reading the new posts from our staff and contributing authors, clients, and end-users on what we are doing well, where we can improve, and any and all additional topics that are related to ActiveAccess, desktop applications, widgets, and other Web 2.0 initiatives.
